GWM Geneva Complete Charity Cycleathon In Support Of UNICEF

GWM Giving Unicef header

On Friday 13th September, GWM Switzerland took part in a gruelling cycleathon which saw them clock up a phenomenal 613.9 miles in just under 11 hours; raising over CHF3,000 for UNICEF’s Living Schoolyards project in Malawi in the process.

Led out of the starting blocks at 6:45am by Area Manager Peter Gollogly and Senior Advisers Ryan Donaldson and Bryan Bann, the group split into teams of three, rotating every thirty minutes.

As we entered the afternoon the gruelling pace started to take its toll and some members of the team were caught napping (literally!)
However, spurred on by messages of support from colleagues in the UAE, the US, the UK and shout-outs from Rugby World Cup winner Lewis Moody and former World’s strongest Man Eddie ‘the beast’ Hall managed to get over the line.

About the challenge

GWM success over the years is largely due to its commitment to exporting UK standard financial planning advice across the globe to expatriate hot-spots such as The UAE in the Middle East, and Switzerland in Central Europe.

The distance of 612.3 miles was chosen to reflect this as it's the distance between GWM's London and Geneva offices.

Thank you

We are humbled to have received so many donations, the money raised will really help UNICEF to continue the great work they are doing in Malawi.

We must also say a special thank you to Le Maraicher for hosting the event, and Activ Fitness who provided the exercise bikes as the cycleathon couldn’t have gone ahead without their support.

Helping make a difference, not a profit.
